#5. Move to a random place where I don't know anyone

People ask me all the time why I chose "South Korea" to go study abroad.  There were a few reasons that came into play, but one of the main reasons was that I simply wanted to be on my own and move to a place where I didn't know one person or the language and be completely out of my element - and see if I could make it.  I wanted to challenge myself and anyone that knows me closely is probably sick of how often I speak of Korea.  It proved to be one of the best experiences of my life and I met some of the best people while abroad and I am still friends with them.

It completely changed my life for the better, but, it was difficult.  I remember sitting at the Las Vegas airport feeling all alone.  I didn't have a phone.  I didn't even have a laptop.  I wasn't even sure I was going to a real program or if people were waiting for me at the airport.  I thought of a quote my older brother used to tell me, "Let fear be your que."  I was definitely afraid, but I was excited for the adventure.

So, my advice for those reading this that want to do something big and great.  Take that leap, make the move - you won't regret it.  It is probably the scariest thing you will ever do, but I can guarantee you that it will one of the most rewarding.
